Correct use of spectrum analyzer

First of all, the power supply is very important to the spectrum analyzer. Before powering up the spectrum analyzer, you must ensure that the power supply is connected correctly and that the ground wire is reliably grounded. The spectrum analyzer is equipped with a three-core power cord. Before starting up, you must insert the power cord plug into a standard three-phase socket. Do not use a power cord without a protective ground to prevent possible personal injury. First of all, the power supply is very important to the spectrum analyzer. Do not use a power cord without a protective ground to prevent possible personal injury. Secondly, before accurately measuring the signal, it should be warmed up for 30 minutes after starting up. When the test environment temperature changes by 3-5 degrees, the spectrum analyzer should be re-calibrated. Third, any spectrum analyzer has a maximum safe power allowed to be input at the input port, which is called the maximum input level. For example, the domestic multifunctional spectrum analyzer AV4032 requires that the maximum power of the continuous wave input signal cannot exceed +30dBmW (1W), and DC input is not allowed. If the input signal value exceeds the maximum input level allowed by the spectrum analyzer, it will cause damage to the instrument; for a spectrum analyzer that does not allow DC input, if the input signal contains DC components, it will also cause damage to the spectrum analyzer. Generally, the maximum input level of a spectrum analyzer is usually marked on the front panel near the input connector. If the spectrum analyzer does not allow the signal to contain DC voltage, when measuring a signal with a DC component, an external capacitor of appropriate value should be used to block DC. When the nature of the measured signal is not well understood, the following methods can be used to ensure the safe use of the spectrum analyzer: If there is an RF power meter, you can use it to measure the signal level first, if there is no power meter, then A certain amount of external attenuator should be connected between the signal cable and the input end of the spectrum analyzer. The spectrum analyzer should select the largest RF attenuation and the largest possible reference level, and use the widest frequency span (SPAN). Ensure that signals that may be off the screen can be clearly seen. We can also use oscilloscopes, voltmeters and other instruments to check DC and AC signal levels
