The non-contact infrared thermometer can measure the surface temperature of an object from a safe distance, making it an indispensable tool in electrical equipment maintenance operations. Motor bearings-check the hot spots, and regularly repair or replace them before the problems cause equipment failure.   Motor coil insulation layer-by measuring the temperature of the motor coil insulation layer, extending its life.  Measurement between phases-check whether the temperature of the wires and connectors of induction motors, mainframe computers and other equipment is the same between phases.  The winding of the transformer-air-cooled device can be directly measured with an infrared thermometer to check the excessive temperature. Any hot spot indicates the damage of the transformer winding.   Uninterruptible power supply-Determine the heating point of the connection line on the UPS output filter. A low temperature point indicates that the DC filter circuit may be an open circuit.   Spare battery-Check the low-voltage battery to make sure it is connected properly. Poor contact with the battery connector may heat enough to burn the battery core rod.   Ballast-Check the ballast for overheating before it starts to smoke.  Utilities-Identify hot spots for connectors, wire joints, transformers, and other equipment. Some models of Raytek optical instruments have a range of 60:1 or even greater, so that almost all measurement targets are within the measurement range.
